Projects and Events
- Tree Oil Vats Dismantled
One of the biggest threats to the protected forest is the illegal
production of tree oil using vats. 24 of those vats were destroyed
in an operation but many still remain in the forest.
- A School for Kampong Touk
Because of the lack of a school in Kampong Touk, more than 100 children
who reached school age are illiterate. But now there is new hope for
these children.
Thanks to some donations that were received through the website, CVD
is able to help the villagers build a small school.
- Little Money gives Big Hope
When their request for a small school for grade 1 was declined by the
authorities, the villagers of Srae Trach set up a temporary school
themselves. Thanks to funds from the donor TdH-NL, CVD is now able to
support this project and pay a teacher.
- PCST Project Highlight
CVD, with the support from TdH-NL, built and completed four new
schools for disadvantaged village children. On 13th
January these schools were inaugurated.
- Raising Awareness of AIDS
CVD organized a special event at a local boat racing contest to raise
awareness on HIV/AIDS and to reduce discrimination of people living
with HIV/AIDS.
- Earth Day Event 2004
The Earth Day event was held to raise environmental awareness among
the population. This is one of the goals of the Maddox Jolie Project,
funded by Angelina Jolie.
- Self-help Return Fund
In May 2002 CVD loaned the sum of $200 to a self-help group. Two
years later the loan was returned.
- Skills Training Center for Disabled Children
In December 2003 the Skills Training Center for Disabled Children
commences its operation in providing various skills to children that
were selected from districts of Battambang Province.
