The Story of Moeurn - a Success Story

This man's name is Moeurn, he is married with 3 children. In 1997 he lost both arms and the use of his eyes while clearing a path cross the Thai border during the evacuation from the political unrest that year.
His life was completely hopeless, his family often went without food for several days. Their only source of food was the meagre forest vegetable his children collected. To make matters worse his wife has serious mental problems since Moeurn was injured by a M69 mine.

Moeurn was repatriated from Thailand by UNHCR with no means of support.
CVD, through the generous donations of the Angelina Jolie Foundation, started assisting Moeurn in 1999 with basic food supplies, household materials, etc. CVD planned long term support for Moeurn so he will be able to help himself in the future.

Now Moeurn has his own house, cow, farming plot and seeds for cultivation. He and his family can produce crops and send their children to school.
Through this CVD project Moeurn's life has changed from a nightmare to a reasonable life.

There are many others in similar situations as Moeurn, whose lives have been changed by receiving assistance from CVD. CVD cannot continue their work for such activities without donations.
