Participants in the boat race
Before the competition starts CVD staff reached out to the boat rowers to give brief
information on HIV/AIDS and distributed some condoms. The boat rowers come mostly
from different districts around Battambang town. During these few nights they may
have to stay in town, in which there may be a chance that they will go out with friends
to visit some popular spots. This direct information dissemination is important, and it
is a good way to help target groups understand the problem in depth and to promote
preventive precautions.
